As of my last post, we had finished framing out the bathroom window. Well, yesterday I got myself back in there and did some spackle sanding (which, I loathe) and primed the window frame and trimmed out the walls so we can roll on the primer (finally!) I cannot wait for this bathroom to NOT be yellow. Even the ceiling is yellow. No matter what I do, I can’t get a decent picture because of the”yellow glow” going on in there. Blech.
I really love how the window looks already and that’s just with primer. Once the boards are on the wall, it really is going to look so nice! I also wanted to roll on a first coat of primer to the walls, but didn’t have a roller like I thought I did, and I wasn’t about to run to Lowe’s. I will be doing that later.
So here’s the still-to-do list for the bathroom:
- Prime walls
- Paint top of walls with Valspar’s “Milk Chocolate” color
- Install board and batten
- Paint board and batten, trim and bottom of walls white
- Build out wainscoting tub surround
- New light fixture (not originally planned, but it’s super rusty)
- Add wainscoting to side of vanity (something else not planned, but since I will have extra, I thought it would like nice)
Hopefully I can get at least the first coat of primer on tonight. (Also, one more coat of spackle on the patched area from bath fan installion.) And, I really can’t wait to get that yummy chocolate color on the walls!
