Ignore the thin, strange trim on the left of the whole window area. It’s a trim that someone put up to cover the shower area wall. It’s hard to see the trim detail on the top, so I took a pic of that a little more up close.

This will, of course, all be primed and painted white to match the board and batten that will be going up. To frame out the window we just used 1″ x 3″ white board and then some MDF we had left over from doing the linen closet shelves. To add a faux crown moulding detail, I just bought some wood accent strips and spaced them about 3 inches from each other. I also put an accent strip above the top piece of moulding. I really like how it came out. It can only look better painted white. Image may be NSFW.

The next step in the bathroom is adding a nice tub trim. VERY EXCITED about this! I am pretty much using Diane from In My Own Style as a guide. I loved how she transformed her bathroom. I will be using her instructions to make the decorative trim for the tub:
